In the heart of the Fox Valley, a remarkable project has emerged. Following the 2011 closure of the Family Resource Center due to lease and funding changes, stakeholders sought a permanent home for vital early childhood organizations to collaborate. The birth of The Community Early Learning Center (CELC) is a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit.

Members of First 5 Fox Valley, formerly known as the Fox Valley Early Childhood Coalition, played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. Their dedication and hard work laid the foundation for what would become a hub of early childhood education and support.

This project was a true community effort, with various local organizations, funders, and educational institutions joining forces. It was a symphony of partnerships, each contributing their unique strengths to turn this dream into reality. And in 2014, the Fox Valley Early Childhood Coalition, now known as First 5 Fox Valley (F5FV), joined hands with community members to officially launch the CELC. What began as a collaborative vision had transformed into a 501(c)(3) organization hosting four different programs. This community center became the home for UW-Oshkosh Head Start, Outagamie and Winnebago County Early Intervention, Bridges Child Enrichment Center, Even Start Family Literacy, and the Appleton Area School District Birth-5 program.

These programs, united in their mission, created a holistic and comprehensive approach to early childhood education and development. Families in the Fox Valley now had a single destination to access a wide range of resources and support
