Welcome Baby Fox Valley

Welcome Baby Fox Valley

The Welcome Baby Fox Valley initiative focuses on ways to reach, assess and connect families to the community resources to ensure better outcomes for all children.  The project:

  1. Works with partnering agency Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin to expand Welcome Baby Screenings completed at pre/postnatal hospital stays with follow-up Welcome Baby home visits.
  2. Supports family outreach Welcome Baby events and educational programs hosted by the Building for Kids Children’s Museum.  These unique activities seek to increase community connection and provide universal access programming to new families that often feel stigmatized when tapping into social services, and brings together families with our youngest children to decreases feelings of postpartum isolation.
  3. Links resources and referrals through the Help Me Grow Fox Valley Centralized Access Point to support families with a coach-navigator system to support a family’s journey towards building resiliency and to access resources they might need more efficiently and effectively.

With the generous support from The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, First Five Fox Valley was awarded a Basic Needs Giving Partnership grant, which is supported by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs, the J.J. Keller Foundation and other community partners.

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin received a multi-year grant from We Energies and WPS Foundation to expand the hospital assessment component of the Welcome Baby project.
