ThedaCare Community Health has awarded a $60,000 grant to Help Me Grow (HMG) to support Community Navigators—an essential resource connecting families with the services their young children need to thrive. This funding builds on ThedaCare’s long-standing commitment to improving early childhood systems in the Fox Valley, ensuring that families have access to coordinated, effective support.
For children ages 0-3, accessing early childhood services has historically been challenging due to an uncoordinated system where programs operated in silos. This led to duplicated services, gaps in care, and unnecessary barriers for families. Additionally, the lack of a universal developmental screening system made it difficult to gather data for informed decision-making, leaving some children without the early interventions crucial for their growth and development.
ThedaCare’s ongoing investment in Help Me Grow has driven meaningful change. A CHAT grant (Community Health Acton Teams) in 2021 helped lay the foundation for a more connected system, leading to over 13,000 developmental screenings completed in 2024. This latest funding will further expand the reach of Community Navigators, who play a vital role in guiding families through early childhood services and ensuring children receive timely support.
In addition to this grant, ThedaCare’s leadership has helped leverage other critical funding, including a third AHW grant and a WPP Community Impact grant, both secured in 2025. These investments are helping to transform early childhood services in the region, creating a more seamless, accessible system that ensures every child has the opportunity to start life safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
